Malcolm and Sarah's Wedding, 20 November 2005.

The day started with a Buddhist ceremony at Sarah's parents' house.

Left: The Macann family: Su, Roger, Malcolm, Sarah, Kim-Hoang, Malcolm.
Right: The extended family, including cousins from Melbourne.

After that, Malcolm headed up to the venue - our farm in Oxford - to make sure everything was ready.

Left: Phil (the Best Man) wasn't sure what would happen to the cake if Malcolm braked too suddenly.
Right: Music was by a woodwind trio from the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra.

The ceremony was held beside the magnolia tree in what will be our front garden.

A damp spring and mild winter meant that everything was lush and green, providing a lovely backdrop for us. The weather held for the day, a little bit windy before and after but fine overall.

We were lucky to be joined by many friends and family.

Left: Malcolm's daughters Katie and Rachel came, together with Katie's partner Brian and Rachel's friend Carolyn.
Right: Sarah's brother Roger brought his family - Liam (3), Trinity (2) and Julianna.

We don't have any buildings on the farm yet, so the reception was held at a vineyard nearby. Yes, the cake was chocolate.

A successful day - result: one happily married couple.
